Dr. Koqwinda Chambers, N.D.

Dr. Koqwinda Chambers completed her pre-medical studies at Clark Atlanta University where she attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with the dream of becoming a Pediatrician. Dr. Koqwinda Chambers In her quest to accomplish this dream, Dr. Chambers developed an interest in and joined the United States Peace Corps Service and was afforded the opportunity to work as a Community Health Educator in sub-Sahara, central Uganda. Her areas of focus included women's reproductive health and HIV/AIDS awareness. During her Peace Corps tour, Dr. Chambers was introduced to a lifestyle of healthy living through good nutrition, including the use of some local herbal medicines, physical activity and a low stress environment. Thus, she experienced the tremendous impact these lifestyle changes had on her overall quality of life and the lives of the people around her.

As a result of these personal lifestyle changes, Dr. Chambers realized that she needed to reexamine what she wanted to achieve in medicine. She firmly believes that nutrition, physical activity and an overall good quality of life should be an essential part of any healthcare model. She found that Naturopathic Medicine provides a complementary approach for quality medical care. This model offers the unique combination of modern pathology, diagnosis and treatment options while focusing on complementary treatment methods. She completed her studies at the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine (UBCNM), an accredited four (4) year graduate naturopathic medical program. This form of medical care provides not only the best of modern and alternative medicine, but also rewarding and meaningful relationships between the doctor and patient(s).

Dr. Chambers' specialization is a focus on women's health with special interest in utilizing her knowledge of nutrition/dietary counseling, mind/body, herbal medicine, exercise, and lifestyle counseling, including stress management.
